I am an independent homebirth midwife based in Topeka, Kansas. I started my Kansas-based practice in 2010, after moving from NY. I was inspired to begin my training to become a midwife after the homebirth of my first son, more than ten years ago. Since then, I have completed training through The National College of Midwifery, and received my national certification as a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). In addition, I attended the Finger Lakes School of Massage, and hold a NYS license as a massage therapist. As a midwife, my goal is to support a woman on her journey toward welcoming a new baby. This includes routine prenatal care, guidance on nutrition and herbs, and lots of time for answering all questions at prenatals. At the time of birth, this means holding the space for a family to gently welcome their baby. Postpartum care includes homevisits to help with establishing nursing, and checking up on mom and baby. Informed consent is an important part of my practice, and I have information packets and a lending library available to all clients.Placenta encapsulation is a recent addition to my services, ask about it!Call to set up a free consult. 785-766-7571.
